Sarah's bursary changed everything

When Sarah's school suggested she apply for a bursary, her family thought it was a joke. Six years later she's starting her PhD at Imperial. This is what a single gift can do.

How it started

Sarah was the first in her family to consider boarding school. Her teachers at her London comprehensive nominated her for our outreach programme; she sat the bursary assessment and was offered a full place a few weeks later.
